I’m always curious to see what the outspoken emcee Dee-1 comes up with when he release new music. This guys is one of the few emcee’s that’s actually about something when he puts that pen to the pad. Dee-1 always pushes his message of positiveness and social consciousness in his music and that’s very needed in this day in age in HipHop/Rap music. Below is the official description of “3s Up”
Be real, be righteous and be relevant are the three ups that rapper Dee-1 lives by. VIBE caught up with the New Orleans native in his hometown this summer, where we hit the French Quarter for our latest VIBE Original Music Video.
Our crew — directors Ryan C. Spencer and Jason Haberman — filmed the visuals for Dee-1’s “3s Up,” off his Psalms of David mixtape. Says Spencer,” We vibed in the streets of New Orleans for a few hours capturing the essence of the city and its people.”
“I don’t focus on the not, the negative or the no,” raps Dee-1 on the street anthem. “I just focus on the top, I gotta get it, let’s go.”
Dee-1 will release his Psalms of David II mixtape on Nov.19 via Datpiff.com, and is currently opening up for Chicago native Lupe Fiasco on his Tetsuo and Youth Preview Tour.
