I finally went down to help out with the new Brooklyn Bike Park build today and the only thing left to do was put down a bunch of sod. Don’t get me wrong it was a TON of sod but it would’ve been cool if I got some digging in.
The new design is built by Velosolutions. Velosolutions have been building amazing pumptracks all over Europe over the past few years. They’ve built pump tracks in Zurich, Pontresina, Sils I.D, Pfaffikon and South East Asia. Now at the request of Chris Trombley of NYCMTB, the Velosolutions team came to NYC to built the first ever paved pumptrack. This also marks the first time Velosolutions built a pumptrack in the states….this is huge!!!
I didn’t get a chance to ride it because there was much to be done but the layout is amazing and there’s so many lines you can take.
The new track is located right across the street from the old Brooklyn Pump Track on Kent ave between s2nd & s3rd street. You can see it from the Manhattan bound side of the Williamsburg Bridge.
Ok enough talk check out the video above and the photos below and come through for opening day July 1st!!!! Please Visit the Brooklyn Bike Park Facebook page to find out info about opening day
