Legendary HipHop artist/illustrator Andre Leroy Davis had a booth setup at the 4th Annual Black Comic Book Festival at the Schomburg Center in Harlem. He gave us a look at some of the awesome items he had for sale on his table at the jam packed event.
This is also the 25th year anniversary of Andre Leroy Davis’s “Last Word” comic being featured in the Source Magazine.
About Andre Leory Davis:
“My name is André LeRoy Davis and I have provided a visual record of the world of Hip-Hop entertainment and it’s entertainers for over twenty-five years. I am an artist, a writer, a poet, an M.C, a producer, a teacher and a journalist. Since 1994 my writing alter ego, “A.L.Dré” has written stories, conducted interviews and structured music reviews for the likes of HipHopDX, Vibe, Rappages, XXL, Smooth Magazine and The Source Magazine. I was the longest running consistent employee of The Source Magazine. My “Last Word” column originally graced the back page of every issue from September 1990 to January 2007. I am deeply immersed in the Hip-Hop culture, the Hip-Hop world and I make a strong point of artistically sharing my love of the culture with the masses. I welcome you to my site. When you have a chance please take the time to explore the animation, the graphics of Dré Designs, the links to some of my writings, and then on your way out purchase a print, a special screensaver for your phone or maybe even a T-Shirt or two. Peace”
