On SugarCayne.com we love to showcase the flashy, high end BMX bikes and for the most part the racing bikes and old school BMX Freestyle bikes have that on lock! But there are a bunch of today’s BMX street/trail/park bikes that have been stepping up their flashy game with nice colorways and decals. Eastern BMX is one of these brands and their new “Thick Rhonda” frames are a perfect example of that.
The Thick Rhonda is called that for a reason. The full 4130 chromoly, E3 welded frame features 8mm thick dropouts plus an extra THICK down tube and chainstays. This frame is made to take a beating 4sho! Of course with the added thickness comes added weight. The frame weighs a hefty 5.4 pounds but nowadays with all the strong, light part options you can still build this up to be a fairly light complete.
The Thick Rhonda gets its style points with it’s 3 colorway options; Coolant Gold, Coolant Green and Gloss Black. We like the red decals and their placement on the frame too. The Coolant Green is our favorite with that Coolant Gold in a real close 2nd.
What we also liked about this frame is the top tube size options of 20.69 and the longer 21.69″ TT. It’s awesome to see longer options for street bikes especially if your a rider who races and does street. The rear end comes in at a super short 13.25″ so if you do go for the 21.69″ TT frame, it will pop right up like any of the shorter TT length frames. Pretty cool!
