The Velosolutions crew have been making major moves in the last year building paved pumptracks across the globe! One of their latest masterpieces is built at KwaDabeka Bike Park in Durban South Africa! It’s the first pump track in the province!!
The Durban pump track is slated to be the 5thleg of the inaugural Red Bull Pump Track World Championship series on Saturday, 28 April 2018. The South African qualifier round will be hosted by the GO!Durban Cycle Academy and Durban Green Corridors
“As a part of the Red Bull Pump Track World Championship, Velosolutions has teamed up with the Go Durban cycling academy to bring a qualifier stop to South Africa and a brand new asphalt pump track to the local community.”
The new track features a bespoke design that Claudio Caluori has been working on ahead of the world final. The incorporation of the tunnel means that riders can race in a pursuit but start and finish side by side with neither having an advantage over the other. Could this be the future of Pump Track racing? ~Velosolutions
