For the last few years, the creative folks at Yess BMX have brought some new and innovative products to the USABMX Grand Nationals. This year they brought a cool prototype concept bike called the Project 2024! They basically created a frame and fork that you can setup as a 20″ or a 24″! We’re really digging the concept!
Press Release:
“It is with great pleasure to unveil our USABMX Grands 2018 concept prototype bike in which we have designated: Project2024. What you see here is the same exact frame with two different tire size setups. You can see that one is a standard Cruiser (XL size) with a BB height of 11-3/4. On the other setup, you can see that it uses a OS20 sized wheel, but with a BB height of 11-1/2. How is this achieved? Using our purpose designed dropouts, it has the capability to flip upside down thus altering the radius distance from axle to ground. This will allow the proper BB height to be met between different wheel size setups. Why is this significant? This gives the ability for riders to possibly travel with only one frame / crankset / seat and fork. The concept has been established however it will take some testing on how fast the rider’s pit crew can get the bars/wheels/gearing changed in between laps. Could it be the next step in the evolution of the BMX Race bike? Perhaps, perhaps not, but there is definitely interest, and we will always commit to evolve the sport through innovation rather than imitation!” ~Yess BMX
