French brand Maison Château Rouge has been commissioned to design an Air Jordan 1 Mid as part of Jordan Brand‘s FW19 Air Jordan 1 “Fearless Ones” collection. MCR founder and designer Youssouf Fofana first met the Jordan team at the Quai 54 streetball tournament in Paris. His style of saluting both African and Parisian craftsmanship made him a designer that the Nike team wanted to collaborate with.
Fofana wanted to reinterpret the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “UNC,”using it’s powder blue colorway and adding his brand’s signature yellows. The yellows are done in both pastel and bright shades, plus Fofana included reddish-brown features which are inspired by Africa. Lots of texture is featured on the kicks with various debossed patterns across the upper. The inspiration of the various patterns is from the gathering of multiple cultures in Paris’s Château Rouge neighborhood. It’s really a fun combination of colors and textures and they all work together.
Long story short, these kicks are awesome! 🙂
The Maison Château Rouge Air Jordan 1 Mid will be dropping on Nov 30th HERE for $130 so be on the look out.
