ROKIT and Converse have reunited for a Chuck 70 Hi collaboration. The goal is to merge the worlds of basketball and skateboarding in a pair of kicks. The sneakers grab its inspiration from blacktops and asphalt hence the black colorway. It’s a tribute to the turf that skaters and ballers get busy on the most. The kicks also give props to ROKIT’s downtown L.A. home base.
Other features on this collabo is the sturdy canvas, textured ripstops and bold matte black taped seams. The All-Star logo patch on the medial collar is done in a puffy black fabric which is stitched directly onto the base. The tongue badge is a nice offset with the white text and Rokit branding. The tounge also features the saying “Los Angeles 2020, dedicated to those forever unbroken.”
All of this rest on top of white midsoles and translucent outsoles which reveal a bold print underneath their clear rubber build. It has a psycodelic look to it. I wasn’t expecting that. Pretty cool!
The only to find out now is ho do these sneakers perform on the courts and the skateparks. Find out when these joints come sometime this month.
