Today’s Bike Of The Day is 2014 GT interceptor ridden by Red Jed AKA “Hokis808” out of Hawaii. This bike looks so sick with that classic BMX freestyle White and green colorway. I always loved this color combination on a bike especially with those green Tuff Wheels.
I was so hyped about featuring this bike that I almost didn’t realize that the fork were put on backwards lol. I reached back out to Red to see if he may have done that on purpose but nope…….
Oh man, totally did not realize that…darn it, I also rode it already so its definitely scuffed up. All good, let’s skip this one…I also put a small dent in the chainstay and my seat post scrapped up when building. I’m working on another build and will submit that. I should be able to cleanly build it and properly. Thank you for bring this to my attention, going to fix it now before my ride today.
~Red Jed
So from there I was gonna pass on featuring this bike but I really liked the build and all the great photos he sent. Plus he was one of the few people who followed all the bike submission instructions and made a proper submission. I just couldn’t pass it up. So I hit him back to see if he would be still be down with me featuring his bike……
For sure, I just didn’t think it would fit since all your bike of the days are super legit.
~Red Jed
But definitely, and I would be honored..
……And the rest is history! 🙂 Shout out to Red Jed for this submittion and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his builds…..with the forks put on correctly 😉

Inspiration For The Build:
Just living my glory days. I grew up riding a DYNO VFR in Cali in which my friend had a GT with mags. Always wanted to run mags but never had the chance to.
~Red Jed
Thirty years later, decided to build up a BMX to take advantage of our lock down status due to COVID. Ended up finding new mags and built around them.
Jumped into this build not really doing research and found out the hard way of how parts advanced like 3 piece cranks and mid BB.
Finally joined BMXMuseum and the members were quite helpful and was able to score the frame there. Mahalo FKX Racing
