Legendary HipHop group, De La Soul was featured on today’s episode of Teen Titans Go! In the episode The Teen Titans must help De La save their music after it was stolen by an alien.
The episode is called “Don’t Press Play” and it’s looks to be a spoof of De La Soul’s on going legal battle with Tommy Boy Records for ownership over their music.
De La Soul has one of the greatest catalogs in hip-hop history, but you can’t access their first six albums because De La and Tommy Boy can’t agree on a fair deal.
Tommy Boy planned to release De La’s classic albums back in 2019 but the group disputed the revenue split. According to De La, the label was only giving the group 10 percent of streaming profits. De La officially cut ties with Tommy Boy Records after negotiations failed and a boycott Tommy Boy movement started

Hopefully they can defeat the record label alien so we can get to enjoy De La Soul’s whole catalog of treats! But wait……. does this makes De La part of the DCU??
