For this new build, I wanted to go with a custom ice blue paint job. I imagined the subtle blue tint that glaciers have from water that was frozen millions of years ago. I was able to show Steve from Premier Powder Coating an Adidas jersey I own that has that exact hue. I asked him to match it, then add blue metal flakes and pearl to give it that frosty texture. Steve read my mind…..
After experimenting with a few batches in his lab, he came up with the exact color I wanted. He had to tweak the electrical currents to get it right, but in the end, he nailed it! I can’t recommend him enough if you want a custom powder that other shops can’t do. To compliment the frosty theme, I decided to draw and hand-cut all of the decals from a crystalline, holographic vinyl……..
This season, my ICE Pump Track frame will be pulling quadruple duty – we will be racing Dual Slalom, BMX, pump track and even downhill. All it takes is swapping out forks and tires and I am off to the races. I hope you enjoy checking out my build.
