Saratoga Bike Park Get Closer To Its Funding Goal

Saratoga Bike Park Pump Track

The town of Saratoga in upstate New York is planning to build a paved Bike Park!! I recently saw renderings of the park posted on The Friends Of Saratoga Bike Park’s Facebook group page and it looks awesome! It features a progressive jump line, bicycle playground with a beginner pump track and UCI approved pump track.

American Ramp Company will be in charge of the parks construction and these are their CAD drawings. ARC are partners with Velosolutions so you know this space is gonna get built right. The last time we had a Velosolution pump track in New York was in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Bike Park 5 years go. And the last time we had a legit bike park in New York was Cranx in Syracuse. This new project in Saratoga will be a first of it’s kind for New York and I can’t wait!

FUNDRASING:

Currently the project has raised $400,000 of the 1.2million needed to fund this project. Anna Laloe who is an admin of the Facebook Group Page said this:

Renderings are in, friends!! American Ramp Company has done a phenomenal job designing the Saratoga Bike Park this winter/spring! ARC and the Saratoga Springs Parks & Recreation Director will be doing a full presentation at the next City Council meeting on July 16, 7pm. Please make an effort to go to the public meeting to voice your enthusiasm for this to be funded in 2025! HOW COOL ARE THESE DESIGN RENDERINGS?!

To orient yourselves, to the right of the fence is the ice rink. You’ll be able to see the Velosolutions pump track from Wiebel. The Velosolutions pump track has been designed to UCI/USAC standards to allow us to have a USAC Pump Track Championships in future if we want to! Let’s goooo!!

Funding update: this is a $1.2million project. This is not a backyard dirt pump track project. This is a Best In Class bike park that folks will travel to from all around New England. The City of Saratoga has allocated $400k of City budget to this project (from which the funding came for the design), we are hoping to free up some State funds, we are hoping that the City will be able to contribute another big chunk of the gap, and then Shredders MTB will likely run a fundraising campaign to fund the amenities (benches, signage, bathrooms, etc – all amazing naming opportunities for local businesses!). Hoping for a 2025 build!

Please come to the July 16th meeting to advocate for more funding for this exciting project!!!

I was told the July meeting will be on Zoom as well. Lets all join the meeting and support! You’ll probably need to register for the meeting info.
