Homeboy Sandman has this joint called “Thank You” on his ‘Rich II” album and I love it!! When I first listened to it I was waiting for Sandman to drop a verse but it was just a instrumental. Plus the beat only lasted for 1:15 but I wanted to vibe to it for longer. I must’ve put this joint on repeat for half the day because I loved the beat so much. Mono En Stereo really produced a HipHop treat with this one.
I really wanted to hear HS put some bars on this beat so I reached out to him and said “Tell me you’re making a whole song outta this one!!! I love this beat”. He replied, “It’s already a whole song! But maybe you’ve just inspired a remix”. I was excited to hear that but I didn’t get my hopes up, I know he’s a busy kat. So I was good with just repeating the beat a 1000 times to get my fill lol!! But to my surprise, a few days later he hit me up to let me know he was dropping a remix to “Thank You” today!! I was hyped to hear the news. What’s even better, he was able to add it to the Rich II album on Bandcamp. Gotta love Bandcamp for offering an option to add to songs to an album that was already released!
Of course Homeboy Sandman delivered on the new vers!! In the vers he gives thanks to everybody for their love and support through his life and career. And now the song is a minute longer so all I have to do is repeat it 500 times to get my fill 😉
Big shout to Homeboy Sandman for doing this remix and just being a real dope emcee. One of the greatest in my book.
