It’s time to check out some awesome BMX racing action at the 2024 Olympics!! The schedule for the men and women’s BMX racing starts August 1st with the qualifying rounds. August 2nd will be the semi finals and finals.
The Break Down:
Fifteen BMX gave detailed break down of how the qualifying rounds will work.
Quarter Finals (think of them as motos)
- 3 racks of 8 riders x 3 rounds.
- Scrambled races.
- Round 1 (seeded by UCI Ranking).
- Round 2 (seeded from previous lap times).
- Round 3 (seeded from previous lap times).
- Top 12 riders go straight to Day 2.
- Riders ranked 13-20 go to LCQ.
- Riders ranked 21-24 go home.
LCR (Last Chance Race)
- 1 race of 8 riders.
- Top 4 riders go to Day 2.
- Bottom 4 riders go home.
Time Slot:
BMX finally gets a better time slot for the 2024 Olympics!! On August first the BMX racing action starts at 2pm(est) and again at 4:05pm(est). Then on August 2nd the action starts at 2pm and the finals will be at 3:35pm

Alternate Riders
So the men and women’s team are allowed to have an alternative rider incase something happens where the main riders can’t compete. Payton “P-Nut” Ridenour and Jeremy Smith will be filling those spots. Big shout out and congrats to them!

Below is the first racks of the Paris 2024 quarter finals line up. So many heavy hitters in these heats/motos but I like how the majority of the favorites are not in the same motos. It should make for some insane laps.
