2024 World Number 6 Elite Women, Carley Kane recently leaked a photo of the prototype Huffy that she’s been working on with the legendary BMX brand. Up until now Carley hasn’t been riding on a Huffy and has been waiting to finally get on one. This is the first professional, elite BMX racing frame that Huffy made since the 1999 Enigma and Primus if I’m not mistaken. Yes the Enigma was resurrected when Huffy came back into BMX racing over the last few years. But that was made more as a starter racing bike for kids.
Carley has been working on the Huffy BMX racing prototype frame project since January of this year. Now she’s able to ride it and test it out. So far she’s loving it and the fact that she’s now riding on a actual Huffy. She’s been riding the bike since the beginning of August and showing little clips of it on her IG page.
There are no official release dates and the brand is being hush hush about any details but this project will definitely be a super level up for Huffy and I can’t wait.
THE FRAME:
Looking at the photos of the prototype you can see the it features a tapered head tube and is disc only. It also has an enclosed dropout with integrated chain tensioners. The drop outs look like they’ll have adaptors to fit multiple size axles. Top tube and down tube looks round with no hydroforming. But the chainstay and seatstay have some interesting bends. I’m gonna assume it has a euro bottom bracket and the tubing will be 6061 T-6.
