New Jersey emcee, Cymarshall Law linked up with Skit Slam to create Everliven Sound & Slimline Mutha! This collab brought forth the “Echo Chamber” album. One of the joints I was really feeling was “After That”. It’s a high energy, raw, boom bap track that features some dirty drums, tambourine and a 60’s era sounding organ melody loop. The base line comes in the hook and follows the organ melody. I love the rawness of the beat.
Cymarshall Law and Skit Slam go in with the bars and delivery on the beat. What really got me was the hook. I pretty sure they got the idea from the classic line by Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid. I love it!! THIS IS HIP HOP!!
