Latvian BMX Pro Kristens Krigers had a little fun with one of his photos from the Olympics. He photoshopped it to a Hot Wheels Workshop toy package and made it look like the brand was making BMX toys. The package has Kristens raoking his race kit with his Stay Strong doing a “Look Away”. When I first saw it I was super excited but then I thought it didn’t really make sense for Hot Wheels to do this because all they do are moto vehicles.
They had me fooled for a second though but It’s actually a great idea! That would be so cool if there was an Olympic series of these featuring all the BMX Olympic competitors and their bikes. They could even make a cut out card on the back like the old G.I. Joe packages had but with the rider stats.
Welp I did a little digging and I found out that this was actually done by Alpha Miniature! It’s an Instagram page that features a bunch of Minature Caricature concepts and designs. They have more BMX, Hot Wheels on their page and they’re really cool. You can actually request to get one like this done for you.
Unfortunately these are not real toys, they’re just a digital visualization but dam that would be awesome if it were real. If anything I’d love to see a real scaled down, authentic looking version of BMX bikes. YUDI HERMAWAN does an incredible job of making realistic looking functional miniature bikes. I’d love to see one of his minis with some cool packaging, that would be awesome! That could actually be pretty big.
