Rei Ayanami Neon Genesis - BMX Trick

Back in 2007 renown hobby manufacture Kotobukiya made a BMX inspired, PVS figure of Rei Ayanami from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The Eva pilot is doing the flatland trick called the Back Yard. It’s a classic scuff trick that BMX flatland pros still do till this day! I love the attention to detail on this figure. The size proportion of Rei and her bike are on point. A lot of attention went into Rei’s fashion details like her scarf, jacket, hair, socks and shoes. And the bike itself looks legit and very detailed. This piece has some much style!

I don’t know where I was when this came out and how it took so long for me to stumble upon this figure but I’m glad I did. Actually, I never would’ve found this if I didn’t post that article about the Naruto Throne BMX bike. I did a search for anime BMX toys and boom!! There it was.

It would be so cool if Kotobukiya revisited this and did a whole series of BMX inspired anime figures. I wasn’t able to find anymore pieces like this online but you can find this figure in a few online marketplaces like Ebay.
