A 2018 Chase RSP 3.1 24in BMX cruiser is today’s Bike Of The Day! You can’t go wrong with a white and black color scheme on a Chase frame and check out that tall seat. Yep, this bike is built for cruising around town but make no mistake, just a simple switch to a short seat post and this bad boy is ready to shred! Shout out to SugarCayne.com member @brian-compton for submitting his bike. Give it a rating via the sliders below for the Bike Of The Month/Bike Of The Year charts.

My inspiration for this bike was my really wanting to try something with regards to the high cost of bikes. At least the bikes that we all want hahahaha. I wanted to build or maybe I should say “put together” the best 24” cruiser I can for next to nothing.(that is an incredibly relative thing to say I know). When I set out to do this , I did it loosely – no strict rules and for fun. Just to see how cheaply I could put a bike together for. I now realize I could have probably ended up with an even better bike and for less money if I belonged to a few more bike clubs out there and there are a lot which is the coolest thing out there to me. But I think I did pretty good. I scored the frame /seat post &clamp for $100. Cranks & BB for $100 , forks $50 , wheels $100 , bars $15 stem $15 ,brakes $20 and pedals $21. I had the tires and the seat was free with a trade I made and grips were thrown in by Guy at Round2 BMX when I got a set of cranks a couple years ago. So for $421 I didn’t do too bad but I think I could have done better like I said if I belonged to some of the BMX groups out there. ~Brian Compton
