If you’re looking for a little more variety in your 26in BMX street frame selection, look no further than the Fixed Gear Freestyle scene! The FGFS scene has a bunch of dedicated frame brands that are manufacturing 26in frames. And even though they may call them FGFS frames, real BMXers know what they really are, 26in BMX street frames.
Ruff Bike Co. has a dope frameset for street shredding called the Glimmer 26 and it’s done in a raw finish giving it that hardcore street style. The crew at RuffBikeCo. did a great description of this frame and it’s features which I added below.
The Glimmer 26″ Fixed Gear Freestyle Frameset in Really Raw finish is the preferred color scheme by SoCal team riders Chase Henley and Johnathan Ball. This frame is offered with an ED black or chrome plated fork. We collaborated with Last Orchid on the decal set and yes, there’s a weasonwhy we went with the complimentary orange for these classic organic designs.
The frame and fork geometry has been test ridden for over three years and refined by Matt Spencer, Jackson Bradshaw, Chase Davis, Johnathan Ball, Chase Henley, and Jacob Ruff. We are really stoked to be able to share this bike!
What’s a Glimmer?
You know when you have that ride: an epic adventure exploring a new city, a heavy session with a big crew, or maybe just a solo cruise in the neighborhood hitting curb cuts and your go-to spots? Regardless, it’s the ride that completely consumes you and is both energizing and freeing. Maybe it disrupts something that you’re doing or thinking that isn’t settling, offers you an opportunity catch up with someone you haven’t seen in a bit, prompts you take a different route and come across something new, or maybe just gives you some space to be in your head with your own thoughts and recharge.
All of these moments are essential parts of what draw us to pick up our bikes and keep pedaling. To us, a Glimmer is that moment when you recognize that you are present, focused, when the volume of everything else around you is silenced, and all that you are doing is riding your bike.
When you’re fully in it, that’s a Glimmer. ~RuffBikeCo.
