Beat Street Inspired Boom Box Art Toy – This Is Hip Hop!

BMBOX Beat Street Art Toy

Elena Kazi is back again with another BMBOX Hip Hop art toy treat!! This time the inspiration comes from the classic Hip Hop movie Beat Street! The colorway for this piece is actually taken from the movie’s soundtrack album cover art. I love the way it came out!! Big shout out to Elena for making this series. I can’t wait to see what she comes with next!

The new #BMBOX is inspired by the iconic cover art of Beat Street, the soundtrack to the 1984 cult classic! The film introduced the world to Hip-Hop during its formative years, showcasing all four elements through an incredible lineup of artists like Melle Mel, The Treacherous Three, Doug E. Fresh, The Rock Steady Crew, NYC Breakers, Jazzy Jay, Sha-Rock, Debbie D, Lisa Lee and Kool Herc, plus even Phase 2 as a creative consultant! And of course, Arthur Baker on the soundtrack!
Sure, there’s some ‘80s cheesiness here and there, but Beat Street remains one of the greatest Hip-Hop films of all time, right up there with Wild Style and Breakin’, and a personal favorite of mine!

The #BeatStreetBMBOX drops February 26, 17:00 EST, only at elenakazi.com!
It’s a limited edition of 5 pieces and it comes with 3 mini cassettes, exclusive stickers and, for the first time, a fold out poster! ~Elena Kazi
