Super rad BMXer Kevin Peraza has been blessed as one of the very few BMX riders to have his own signature pair of Vans!! Kevin got to design his own colorway for the popular Old Skool Pro kicks! If that wasn’t already big news, this also marks the first time that Vans has constructed a sneaker made specificaly for BMX!
Kevin’s signature kicks feature the classic checker pattern with a mix of black, red and white with stitched red “Peraza” logo is featured on the tongue. The kicks have suede uppers with the DURACAP reinforcement rubber underlays to handle the abuse in high wear areas of the sneakers. The inside features Vans’ polyurethane-based ULTRACUSH HD sockliner for more comfort and high level impact cushioning.
What also makes these kicks so special is the introduction of
Vans revolutionary Wafflecup BMX construction. The Waffleup is a BMX specific sole design which features a blend of the classic waffle pattern with various diamond patterns and a octagon style pattern placed strategically in areas of the sole that need the extra support. Vans says the Wafflecup “offers today’s BMXers the SUPPORT of a cupsole without sacrificing any of the grip and PEDALFEEL of a traditional vulcanized shoe.”
This is great news for all the BMXers who love Vans but have a hard time wearing them when they ride because they don’t have enough support for BMX riding. We’ve been waiting for this for years!!
