7 Year Old Michael Terry Featured On KENS5

7 year old Converse, Texas BMX racer Michael Terry was recently featured on San Antonio’s KENS 5 News. Eyewitness News reporter Jon Coker interviewed the young BMX champ and found out Michael races for more than the gold.

“He said he was driven by something he treasures even more than the gold. Terry’s three-year-old brother, Gabriel, suffered a seizure Saturday night while the family was driving in the car. Terry noticed his brother’s eyes rolling back in his head after he vomited in his sleep. The boy was unresponsive and had to be immediately rushed to intensive care.

“I was scared and started crying,” Terry said. His next race was only 24 hours away, and although he wanted to stay by his brother’s side, he made a commitment to finish what he started and to race in his brother’s honor.

“He started crying when I left, then I told him that I’m going to go race and I’m going to win for you,” Terry said. “[I won] every single three races just for him.” ~Jon Coker (See the full article on MSN.com)

Big salute to Michael for helping to bring more awareness to BMX Racing and for representing for his brother Gabriel! Hope all is well now. Looking forward to seeing him at the track!
