A 2010 GT Power Series Ultrabox 2 is today’s Bike Of The Day! This is one of GT’s most unique and iconic frames and it was one of if not thee first carbon BMX frames. This beauty was submitted by Mick Rich who currently still races on it!

I’m always on the look-out for interesting race bikes and when I spotted this iconic frame on a Japanese auction site, I jumped on it. That was back in September 2020 and since then I’ve slowly been replacing and swapping out parts, so that it’s now more to my liking. The first all-carbon race frame, the UB2 was designed with the 2008 Beijing Olympics in mind (BMX racing’s Olympic debut) and this one is a 2010 model, the third and final year of UB2 production. It’s been raced and it shows – this is no carpet queen, with plenty of battle scars to the frame and parts. I continue to race this bike here in Japan and it gets comments wherever I go. I love how it looks and rides, and have no plans to retire it any time soon!
