Hip Hop’s First Comic Book Character – Rappin Max Robot – Is Now An Art Toy

Rappin Max Robot Art Toy

Legendary comic book creator Eric Orr gets his classic Rappin Max Robot Hip Hop comic book character brought to life as an art toy! Rappin’ Max Robot was the worlds first Hip Hop comic book character created by Eric back in 1986. There were only about 500 copies of the original comic book ever printed, with help from Eric’s friend Keith Haring. Now after 30+ years Rappin Max Robot becomes a dope collectible art toy and I love it!

FUN FACT:

This past summer an 18ft tall Rappin Max Robot sculpture was created by Welder Underground to be put on display at the Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx. Next year it’ll be sent to Paris, France where it will live at the famous Place de la Bataille-de-Stalingrad as part of a gift celebrating the first time Breaking was included as a sport at The Olympics.

It made its debut back in November of this year in Cadman Plaza near Brooklyn borough hall. It will honor hip-hop culture in that space until April 2025 when it heads to permanent home in Paris.
