Hip Hop legend Large Professor dropped a fire, high energy Hip Hop joint called “Key to The City”! This joint is dope on so many levels. It’s refreshing to hear a Hip Hop beat that wakes you up and makes you wanna dance again. The live drums, the tempo, the musical changes in the hook all make this tune pop. but that’s not it! There’s also the horns and the cuts in the break and hook. large Professor spits some dope bars and definitely gives me Big Daddy Kane vibes with his delivery on this and I love it. Actually it would be dope if Large Pro got BDK on a remix of this joint. THIS IS HIP HOP!!
The video was directed by Megadon aka Donald Robinson Cole III in association with Olise Forel and John McFadden in NYC. I was digging it. It had a nostalgic style to it. The only thing missing in this video are the B-Boys and B-Girls. It’s definitely a beat for breakers.
Big shout out and salute to Large Professor for this drop. It was a great way to wrap up a really dope year for real Hip Hop!! Looking forward to hear what our legends come up with this year.
