Ladi6 (@Ladi6) – Shine On – Boom Bap, Smooth, Soulful, R&B

ladi6 shine on

New neck cracking, boom bap, smooth, soulful, HipHop influenced, R&B dopeness by New Zealand’s own amazing songstress Ladi6! Her latest joint is called “Shine On” and what more can I say than the song is perfect in my opinion. Her voice, the beat and that dope harp sound did it for me, I’m loving it. Now the icing on the cake is this creative animated video that was made for the song, Ladi6 is touch 2 of the main elements that make up SugarCayne.com; HipHop and Comics where Art & Animation fall under on this site. Actually the video incorporates a bunch of animation styles and it’s very interesting to look at. Dopeness 4sho! Below is the official description for the video:

“Shine On” the second single from Ladi6’s third studio album Automatic.

Ladi6 and Parks traveled to America to work with Waajeed to record their new album at the renowned Studio A recording studio in Detroit, Michigan with grammy winning engineer Todd Fairall.

“Shine On” is produced by Detroit’s own Waajeed AKA Jeedo. Jeedo needs little introduction to music fans, as his work over the years has spawned absolute classics starting with his first Platinum Pied Pipers album, Triple P. His work spans from Soul, Hip Hop to Electronic, working with the likes of Cee- Lo, J-Dilla, Mad Mike, and countless others.

Automatic is the follow up to the 2010 released The Liberation Of…, which was certified Gold in NZ and spawned the Platinum-selling Top 10 single ‘Like Water’. In 2011 Ladi6 picked up two New Zealand Music awards (Best Urban album and Best Female Artist), two Pacific Music Awards (Best Pacific Urban album and Best Female Artist) and The Liberation Of… won the prestigious Taite Music Prize.
