Vega Racing Flange BMX Racing Hubs

Vega Racing BMX has some cool looking flange hubs that are ready to get busy on the track. I like the matte black finish with the Vega logo in the middle. I'm curious how they perform. If anybody is...

    • Yo‼️ I had to check out their website because I couldn’t make heads or tails of their 4 flange setup. At first I thought they were offering 3 cogs per hub which makes no sense, but that’s what I thought LOL‼️ (it’s 6:30 am) AND NO COFFEE aka motor oil hahaha. And then I thought they would never do that to a front hub , I’m not seeing something….so I checked out their website and walla , 💥 boom 💥 instant understanding of what im looking at. The double flanges are for unique lacing setup that I would love to actually see setUP. I think it’s safe to say it will definitely look wicked and as far as how it handles…. Well, who knows except them but it seems to me it would make for very ridged wheel. I see it as an extreme version of what the offset rims are so , yeah – I think it’s what they say it is. I really like when there is some attention paid to the design/the look of the hub flanges. It makes them look soooo much cooler and different than any other one out there. Johnny from JTT designed a gorgeous Hubset that looked like a chainsaw. The flanges were raised at each spoke hole along with elliptical cutouts which gave it the radest and most unique look. Unfortunately they are sold out and I’m not sure if they will ever get made again (of course). BUT, these are also paying attention and apparently improving performance at the same time so I’m anxious to see these sweet thaaannngs hit the track and really find out “whaaaz aaaap”. This is a cool one

      • I just noticed at the bottom of their comments Paige there is an image of a complete wheel and even though it a bit fuzzy and you can’t enlarge it, you can still see it looks hot. I am diggin the look of what ends up being a tall flanged hub which ends up giving the wheel shorter spokes. It makes for a rigid wheel when laced proper. I also believe the staggered flanges make that rigid wheel easier to achieve by not having to bend the spokes as much making a 4x a more delightful experience hahaha. I see these wheels ( regardless of rim choice) being solid (literally). I’m wondering if that was the or part of this design choice – to achieve the most rigid wheel possible. Either way I’m sweet on these here cookies 🍪’s
